PRESENTATION

Patrick Gilles et Dorothée Boissier se sont connus à leur début chez Christian Liaigre en 1995. Il y travaille durant huit années et devient chef de studio tandis qu'elle quitte rapidement ce premier point d'ancrage pour rejoindre l'équipe de Philippe Starck ou elle restera 9 ans se hissant au plus haut niveau de responsabilité dans le domaine de l'architecture intérieure. Sortis tous deux de formations phares, lui Camondo et elle major de Penninghen, ils décident de s'associer en 2004 pour créer leur propre agence Gilles & Boissier.


Empruntant à Liaigre la rigueur esthétique, à Starck son ouverture d'esprit et son approche émotionnelle des espaces, Patrick Gilles et Dorothée Boissier aiment surprendre, rebondir sur la personnalité de leur client, dérouler des univers poétiques pour créer de nouvelles sensations. La Maison Baccarat à Moscou (sous l'égide de Starck) ou le Buddakan à New York (en collaboration avec Liaigre) sont l'oeuvre de leurs mains expertes. Ces collaborations leur valent en particulier une réputation internationale sur les grands projets de restauration mais aussi d'hôtellerie.


Gilles & Boissier, c'est la rencontre de deux approches esthétiques riches et parfois contrastées qui s'accorde dans la conception d'espaces multiples ou la mise en scène tient souvent un rôle de premier plan.
 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 



Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier started their careers in the Paris studio of the world-renowned interior and furniture designer -Christian Liaigre- in 1995. Patrick remained with Liaigre for eight years, working on the original Hakkasan concept design in 2000, and eventually became head of the studio. Meanwhile, Dorothée moved-on to take up a key position with Philippe Starck, with whom she worked for the next nine years, specialising in interior architecture.
In 2004, Patrick and Dorothée took the decision to build on the experience and influence acquired in working with their respective mentors by creating their own design agency- Gilles & Boissier.
The Gilles & Boissier philosophy combines an aesthetic rigour.The partnership was able to reflect the personality of their clients. Gilles & Boissier eputation has gained prominence in the hotel, retail and leisure sectors, with a client list that includes, Baccarat and Moncler, and top US hotelier Ian Shrager.In 2006, Gilles & Boissier was commissionned by Hakkasan to design their first overseas restaurant in Istanbul. Since then, they have worked on all the company's international openings to date: Miami (2009), Abu Dhabi (2010) Mumbai (2011), Dubai 2011 and New York which opened in March 2012. They are currently working on three new US Hakkasan projects in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas which will include a new concept for a Hakkasan night club.Other restaurant projects include the Michelin-starred Troisgros in France, Buddakan and Wakiya in New York City, Maison Boulud in Beijing's Legation Quarter Shanghai branch of South Beauty's Lan Restaurant, La Villa and Mini Palais in Paris. Patrick and Dorothée bring together a wealth of experience garnered from two of the world's leading design minds, infused with their own creative approach. With an ever-growing portfolio of high-profile international assignments, their studio is set to become a leading player in the next generation of architectural, interior and furniture design.Thanks to the exciting hotel projects they are working on, 2013 will be a very important creative year. The projects include Hotels for the Starwood Capital Group and Baccarat in New York; the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Marrakesh and in Paris "Kinugawa"- a Japanese restaurant and a Hotel by the Opera area.
