an artist apartment

In this apartment with singular volumes, Gilles&Boissier delivers a measured reinterpretation, faithful to the spirit of the place. The furniture, entirely designed bespoke, structures the space with precision; noble materials emphasize its depth without ever weighing it down. An in situ intervention by Cyprien Chabert punctuates the whole, bringing a discreet rhythm that accompanies the existing architecture.

Between heritage and contemporary expression, the apartment asserts a quiet coherence – that of a place outside time, where the studio’s architectural and artistic signature is inscribed with precision.

The passage toward intimacy reveals itself at the end of a sequence of rooms, like a natural transition. This space was conceived to embody an elegant, pared-back vision, where each element finds its place without ostentation.

The bespoke furniture emphasizes the Haussmannian proportions: the Aria armchair, the small Octave sofa, the Althéa canopy bed. Nothing superfluous, nothing demonstrative — simply the right comfort, the essential rediscovered.

This composition becomes the ground for subtle craftsmanship: the precision of a curve, the tension of a line, the controlled dialogue of materials.

The intervention of Cyprien Chabert extends this rigor. Drawn freehand, his graphic motifs unfold across the walls in the “kilometer of ink” that defines his work. Their contemporary lines respond to the structured rhythms of the nineteenth-century parquet, establishing a delicate movement between heritage and renewed perspective — an equilibrium faithful to the language of Gilles&Boissier.
