In the heart of Milan, Gilles&Boissier composes an apartment with an assured sense of dramaturgy: an interior where the heritage of the great palazzi enters into dialogue with a contemporary language. Between Italian sophistication and a Parisian perspective.

In the heart of Milan, Gilles&Boissier composes an apartment with an assured sense of dramaturgy: an interior where the heritage of the great palazzi enters into dialogue with a contemporary language. Between Italian sophistication and a Parisian perspective.

Conceived as a cinematic sequence, Gilles&Boissier orchestrates the apartment through long perspectives, carefully framed thresholds and a succession of atmospheres that create a true domestic dramaturgy. Spaces follow one another with fluidity, revealing in turn the living room, dining room and areas for conversation in a carefully composed mise-en-scène designed for receiving and sharing.

Materiality takes the leading role. Veined marbles deployed in striking book-matched expanses, patinated dark woods, bronze mirrors and steel surfaces compose a dense, distinctly Milanese palette in which each material asserts its presence without ever disturbing the balance. References to the history of local design surface subtly, notably in the marble and travertine floors inspired by Milan’s emblematic interiors.

At the heart of the composition, the monumental work by François Houtin runs along the corridor like a graphic line of force. It deepens the perspective and reflects the strong personality of the owner, an attentive collector and art lover.

The reception rooms then assume the character of an intimate theatre: light reflects in the mirrors, volumes expand, conversations find their stage. The whole brings together, with natural ease, a classical vocabulary and a precise modernity — a contemporary Milanese elegance, dense and inhabited, never demonstrative.
